YO! Sushi!

As everyone may know I love sushi! Sushi is one of my top favorite foods that i love and can never get tired of eating!! My sushi place at home, Yoyogi Sushi, one my favorite place to eat! Back when I was home in the states I would eat there at least once a week! When I arrived in Dublin I came to the quick realization that finding a good sushi place in dublin is like trying to find a needle in a heystack. I tried one sushi place, which was good, but was insanely expensive to the point where i would spend 27 euro!!! (yah i only spent about 14 dollars in the states lol). Another thing I didnt care for much was how they assume to put wasabi in everythign! I prefer ny wasabi in my soy sauce! Never in my sushi!! So I crossed that place off my list.
After months of searching, I started to lose hope of find anywhere decent. But then while wandering around Graftion Street I have finally found my sushi fix!!!
YO! SUSHI

which is a sushi chain resturant based out of the UK which has a color plate philosophy. What I mean by that is that it is a sushi bar that charged items by the color of the plate! (As seen below in the video!)

This place not only had good sushi! (lots of variety) but it is also a belt bar where the sushi comes to you and you pick off the belt what you want!

At the end of the meal a server counts up the color plates and give you your receipt to pay up front. They have all you can eat (or drink) miso soup and green tea. So this Sushi bar has def got my stamp of approval. But I still think my Yoyogi is the best sushi i have ever had!

Porterhouse - Dublin

This is an awesome place to go on a thursday or friday night! There is love music and 3 floors of bars and the music is awesome!!! Porterhouse is legendary for brewing their own beer! Which is a great change because all over Dublin they serve the same kinds of beer (Smithwicks, Carlsberg, Guinness, Bulmers, Busweiser, etc) and it gets tiring after a while.. they have special beers such as a chocolate flavor one!!! i will be excited to try a brew next time I go :)

Enjoy the music!!!

Hand-Written Letters

One of my favorite things to do is write letter (in particular to jimmy) and after a month and a helf of writing to each other i decided to get more creative and draw on the back of each envelope with a moment from family guy, or in this case south park. Nothing says i care like a hand written letter.

Dublin Viking Festival... where the irish celebrate the scandinavian vikings invading dublin and coming up the river liffey and raiding the village lol awesome lol It was really cute because there were people dressed up and there was a little bit of sword fighting lol oh a fallen viking!!! lol (awwww) The Viking fight!!!

The National Aquarium

The National Aquarium is located in Galway,so what better thing to do than visit it! I guess from coming from Maryland and having been to something as grand as the Baltimore Aquarium, I was expecting it to be huge too. But sadly it was probably a 10th of the size. It was only 2 floors, but what they loss in size they made up in fun stuff to do. When my friend Caitlin and I arrived and entered the Aquarium, a staff member greeted us and asked us if we wanted to feed fish. We said yes and we went fish tank to tank and fed the fish.

The Mall in Galway

The mall in Galway was very cool and unique!! not only is the escalator oposite lol there was also part of a castle in the mall! it was pretty cool and it was a nice little mall with very tiny shops.

The BK Lounge

Burger King (or the BK Lounge) GALWY STYLE!! I have learned that the menus for fast food changes depending on every region! Their idea of a happy meal is two mini burgers and a juice which was very good!

Galway

My day trip back to Galway was meant to be a trip to get to do a few last minute things :)

My first hostel...
Snoozles was a great hostel that was located right next to the bus station and it was pretty neat experience. We got our own room which only came with a toliet and a bunk bed..so it explains why we were able to get one night for 25 euro!! The bus ride was also only 15 euro so it was a pretty cheap trip lol

Karaoke at The Legal Eagle!!

The Legal Eagle is our favorite pub to go to! We have an awesome bartender who is really cool and very nice. Every thursday they have karaoke, so last thurday we decided to check it out and give it a try! Here are some fun videos of my friends singing lol Angela!!!
Matt the Bartender!!

Caution Signs in Ireland

Signs in Ireland are sometimes very ridiculous and obvious in my opinion! Here is a sign from Howth at the pier warning people that they should drive with caution because there is the chance they may drive off the pier!! oh gosh! lol

Newgrange!

Newgrange trip was a fun trip and when i was there it was so surreal! We walked in the chamder and the passages were so small that most people had to hunch over or sqeeze to get though. But thanks to great genes and my height lol i was able to walk without bending over or trying to sqeeze through small spaces.. it was amazing how it was all created!!

Check it out on Wikipeida!!

Chicago at the Gaiety Theatre

My roomates and I went to go see the musical CHICAGO and it was just an amazing show! we got really good seats off the balcony and the show was just very well done.. the irish actors were able to pull off american accents lol

Cobblestone Pub

This is a very very local pub that is a block away from my apartment. It is very traditional irish. There are lots of musicians that come to play tradition irish music together. It was really neat experience.

Family Dinners in Blackhall

As kind of a bonding experience (and to save money lol) my roomates and I take turn cooking meals and sharing them with everyone else - totally FAMILY STYLE! My first night cooking I made swedish meatballs and they were a hit! This night was mexiacn night with chicken taco!!

Grafton Street

Grafton Street is one of the biggest main streets in Dublin. It is the best area in Dublin and full of wealth. This is my favorite street because it has the best shops I have ever seen. There are store that have already have become my favorite! One is a place called TOPSHOP and this shop has actually clothes for petite girls and i was finally able to find pants with a 29" inseem which is very hard to find!!.. there is also a great jewelery store called ACCESSORIZE which have everything from hats to earrings to scarfs to clutches!

Chalk Drawings in Nassau St,

There are lots of homeless slash beggers in dublin and they get creative to get money. I see them often hang around ATMs to guilt people to give money.. i see women hold their babies in their arms and begfor money.. in this case this person drew the simpsons, so i give props for creativity lol

Aran Islands & Dun Aonghasa Cliffs

The Aran Islands are islands that are off the coast of Galway.. we has to take a 30 min ferry to get the the island and we got a guided tour throughout the day. The highlight of my day was the cliffs!! and yes i was close to the edge lol
