Farm fresh!

Tonight for dinner I was inspired by the eggs Lori gave me from her chickens :) but really I wanted to crack open the green egg!!

With these ingredients... I created my dinner!

After a few tricks I created pea pesto risotto with parm and a duo of sunny side up eggs on the top:)

And yes it was good :) def a keeper! And yes the farm fresh eggs make a huge difference! Yolks are huge!!

My make up basics!!!

What is in my make up bag "must haves"? These are products I have used for years as my basics and they work the best for me and my sensitive skin!

Concealer: revlon photoshop ready stick (glides on and is easy to use, no brush needed)
Foundation: loreal true match w2 liquid foundation (French brand and works as well as other higher brand products)
Bronzer: Clinique dual Bronzer (natural and two colors helps to blend with any skin tone)
Blush: bare minerals blush in glee ( big fan of the shade of glee because it's not clown looking and a little goes a long way!)
Brow shadow: bare minerals brows dark blonde medium brown. (yes I have brow shadow to fill and and make my brows look perfect no matter what! A must!!!)
Highlighter: urban decay show time ( have to love this cause it can highlight cheeks and make the face pop!)
Finishing spray: urban decay all nighter ( this sets my make up so it lasts all day! Just spray it and it doesn't melt my make up and feels light!)

Yes I kno it is a lot but it works for me and it's my morning routine before going to work. :)

NYC nail polish... Reviewed!

I recently bought this nail polish from target and I have to say I love it! I was surprised because for 99 cents it is a pretty good product! The color shows nicely and it keeps on well without coming on too thick that it smudges!

I got Cashmere Creme which is a nice light blue with a mild metallic look.

NYC always stuck me as a cheap brand, but their nail polish surprised me! I usually buy expensive brands, like Essie and OPI. And with those brands I sometimes end up with a polish I regret spending as much as I did on! Not with NYC.. I'm def gonna drop by target again this week to pick up another color :)

Thank god winter is over!

This winter was probably my favorite.. Because there was little to no snow!!! Love it! I hate digging out my car and getting stuck in the snow!! Lol thank god this year the most snow we got was at deep creek lol and jimmy n I finally went ice skating together!!! He was falling all over the place!! Right there he is trying to tebow lol :P

Irish Shenanigans

Jimmy and I have been back from Ireland for over a month, and I am finally able to upload the pictures!! Just keep in mind that these are the highlights because jimmy was a camera freak and took over 1000 pictures!! Seriously, cutting them down still took up 3 facebook albums lol

This picture was taken in galway when we were trying to walk to the aquarium, and it turned out to be a full out walking adventure where we ran into a pack of swans, wandering the grassy knolls, and somehow end up on a seaweed infested beach lol fun stuff!... and did i mention it was raining?? lol
These two are from our day of touring! the one above is from the old prison in dublin where lots of politial figureheads were jailed! Below is a picture from the wax musuem! This was fun because it was just lots of pop culture wax figures that you can pose with ! This was one of my favorites, because it is my long lost twin!!!

Above is the picture from the BRAZEN HEAD pub, which is rthe oldest pub in dublin, standing for almost 900 years!!! It was the first pub I visited when i was in dublin in 2009 and now Jimmy and I were able to make memories there as well!
This last picture is from the Potterhouse, which is the largest micro brewery in Ireland and they hav3e the best variety of beer! They don't even serve guiness!

These picture are just the tip of the iceburg!, but if u want to see more check out my FB albums below!!

Charm city cakes!

Yesterday I went to charm city cakes and got my cake draft made up :) I might make changes later, but I got time!

My baker and designer is Mary Smith from ace of cakes! Watch episodes if you need a reminder!

It was fun and she is going to make gumpaste figurines of Jimmy, myself, Roscoe and Bailey! I'm not going to give away all the secrets... Butttt...

Sneak hint... The flavors have been sampled and Jimmy and I made the hard decision! Our cake flavor is going to be Lemon and Marble!!! We loved them so much we chose both and separating them by tiers :)

Carrot and Ginger risotto!!

I am a risotto queen! I live risotto so much I try to make them in different ways! Last night I made this Asian inspired risotto!

I used...
1.olive oil in the pan
2.I put in onions, red peppers and scallions in the pan and cooked down
3. I put thai rice in the pan ant toasted them for about 2 minutes
4. Instead of using traditional wine, I added a couple of tablespoons of soy sauce to give the cooking kick to the rice.
5. Then I added a cup of stock and let it cook down
6. When the stock was almost all gone, I put in a cup of carrot and Ginger soup and cooked until rice was cooked
7. Enjoy!!!

I love it cuz it is light and taste like take out :) yum! It's def a keeper!

Just a word of advice.. Be creative in the kitchen! The more you test and experiment the more you will be able to cook and enjoy cooking! You will know what works and what doesn't! I will be honest, I was a horrible cook until I was forced to cook for myself. A lot of trial and error until I was even close to being the cook I am now. Just never give up and don't get frustrated! Keep a frozen meal ready in the freezer when those days do happen :) makes it less stressful!

Paint paint paint

I love to paint! I been painting ever since I was a kid and I helped my dad paint a mural. I also used to watch that guy with the Afro who would teach how to paint landscapes... Damn can't remember his name..

Anyways I love to paint! And the thing about me is when I paint I really have no training or technique... I kind of just have a certain way of painting where it is rough edges... And I'm trying to get done asap! Really bad I know, but I can't paint something for days because I am so ADD!! so when I paint I paint quick... I try to use 5 or less colors... And I use 1 99 cent brush and rarely use water ..., yah I'm a painters worst nightmare of an artist lol but I like it!!!

I def have a signature with mixing colors and going dark! My latest painting fav is my blood sunset with my dead trees.. I know... Jimmy thinks it weird too but I love how it turned out!!

I will most likely stop painting for a few month and pick it back up when I'm in the mood for it... See it's the add tendencies again!!

Take a look at my painting and tell me what you think!

The Mount

I went to visit Mount St Marys University to take care of some post grad stuff, like requesting transcripts and seeing my old boss Ana!! We talked about wedding stuff and my no so good teaching career! I got into Fcps, but not the position I want, but it's life. Anyways it is good to go to the mount and reflect on my college days. I'm sure all my fellow grads feel the same way.. We will miss going to patriot in the morning or even rushing to class and trying to buy something to eat from the mount cart. Laying out in the quad or hanging out in friends dorm watching prime time tv... So many memories and so many friends that made it a great 4 days :)
